Ebay acquisition arrived today - WW2-ish (probably much, much later but looks the part) headphones & mike. I'll be working on it over the coming months to turn it into a backpack based PMR radio - can't decide whether to do a British or German one but I'll get it into the scenario for Husky!

Cost: £6.68

PS, if anyone can ID it I'd be interested. Obviously British - has 'Microphone Hand No 7' on the mike and 'Plug 5 point' on the plug. Nothing on the headphone but hey have padded felt earpieces.

Well according to this page: http://www.artifaxbooks.com/radio.htm

That is the mic and headset for a WS19... which IS WW2 issue.

Its a vehicle mounted radio.

See this page for a pic with radio, headset and mic all together.

Very nice Dave... don't bugger it up!

I managed to do it with mine... unscrewed the connectors and managed to solder some wire on so it came out of the top of the connectors, rather than the end.

Totally reversible. :)

I can give it a go for you if you like.

Hopefully this link will provide you with a nice deal of information: Scroll down to "No.22 Set" for the bets diagram! http://members.tripod.com/~nigelef/artycomm.htm

I'll see if I can get hold of any of the mating connectors for the radio set. Does it have a large round/hexagonal central bakalite 'pin' with five flat-ish connectors spaced all around the sides of it?

Oh and I think it deffo' is a war issue/post war one, due to the rubber/plasticised cable/cord. Pre war would have fabric-wrapped cord (like the old lamp cord or electric iron flex, but usually red in colour) which was common to rot in the field.

Many thanks, all I've done this evening is read about WS19 radios - I have a pile of invoice to do. Oh well, it will wait!

And yes, it's the Pye five point snatch connector - I've googled to find similar but lost the will to live so if you do have a source it will save rewiring

Edit: the cable is fabric covered - like iron flex, O'D in colour
